Justine Cleveland, LCSW - Owner and Therapist
Creative. Kind. Loyal. Authentic. Fun. Passionate. These are words that describe me and my therapy style. I have an empathetic, and down-to-earth approach to helping. I am a big believer in the healing strength of relationships, based on my over 10 years of experience in the therapy space and in my own life. I hope to be a warm and authentic connection to my clients. I love deep work and helping address patterns for relationship and trauma that impact life. We heal through developing a strong relationship to your core self and healing hurts that cause those disruptions. We can do that though work together, in nature, through art, and also through work with the horses if desired. Relationships are the healing force in life, and I believe we all have the wisdom within to heal through accessing them.
The horses provide a unique opportunity to explore relationships in Wholehearted Herd Counseling. I have trust in this power because my adolescent years were hard for me and I often felt lonely and misunderstood. I found a healing connection with my first horse, Stormy. He never bullied me or told me I was too shy or awkward but just listened and held me in his horsey way. I have seen horses have that relationship with others and I can't wait to help you experience a trusting bond like this too. As a person of faith and spiritual Christian, I love helping Clients who choose to develop their faith relationship as well.

Justine is a Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) practitioner, is certified with Natural Lifemanship™ Trauma-Focused Equine Assisted Therapy (TF-EAP), and has training in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) many times paired with Internal Family Systems (IFS) informed interventions. She is also certified as an Adoption Competent Therapist through the Training for Adoption Competency (TAC). Justine provides therapy to children and families as well as women. Joshua Cleveland - Owner and Equine Specialist
At times there will be a second professional needed to support treatment goals. An equine specialist helps to make sure the horse's needs are being met as well as the humans. Josh has a bachelors degree in Human Services and knows these horses well because they are his personal friends!

The Horses...

At Wholehearted Herd Counseling, LLC the horses are partners alongside of the people. They are respected for their opinions and input in services. We believe that horses are beings with feelings and thoughts that are capable of making their own decisions that we respect.
